Contrary to recent reports, 9ice will NOT be going into politics for now, neither will he be leaving the world of music.
This week, the singer posted a photo of himself dressed in native attire with the caption ‘Your Honourable Come 2015. Ogbomosho North Constituency’. Many believe that 9ice (who has been quite open about his intentions to run for office) will be vying for the position in his hometown next year.
But according to the ‘Ike kan’ singer’s manager, the whole situation has been misunderstood.
‘He isn’t leaving music for politics’, 9ice’s manager Tony ‘Don T’ Anifite decleared.
Apparently, the whole rumour started while 9ice was shooting the video of the song ‘Shakashiki’ with Akin Alabi. ‘His dressing looked like that of an honourable and we started calling him ‘honourable’ and that’s how thing started. ‘His IG post just blew it out of proportion’, he explained.
In an exclusive interview in November 2013, 9ice revealed that he’d definitely be going into politics in 2016 or 2017 after he completes his University education.
‘I am back in school in Capella University. I am doing an online course in Criminal Law and Public Safety and by 2015 or 2016, I would be through. May God help me by 2015 or 2016 or 2017, I would be running for an elective position’, said 9ice and also plans to release his double albums C.N.N and G.R.A in 2014.
